Tickets for Guests
Students who have been cleared for graduation will be able to download five (5) tickets for their guests. Tickets will be required for ALL guests at commencement over the age of three (3), and tickets will be limited to only five (5) per graduate. Additional tickets may not be available. Ushers will scan tickets at the door after guests have gone through security screening.
Guest Arrival and Parking
All guests should arrive at the Hamilton Field House South and/or West entrances. Ushers will scan tickets at the doors. All guests will also be screened with metal detectors prior to entry. (Please see the “Safety Measures” section below for a list of all prohibited items.)
Please share the campus parking map with your guests prior to their arrival on campus. Recommended lots for guest parking include those surrounding the UCO Wellness Center (Lot 46-47).
A limited number of parking spaces designated for disabled and elderly guests will be available immediately West of Hamilton Field House (Lot 44). A handicap license plate or decal is required to utilize the handicap parking. Guests who cannot easily navigate stairs and will require assistance to their seats should contact an usher or other UCO employee upon arrival for assistance at the West entrance.
Please be aware that some lots may be partitioned off, such as Lot 41. These lots will not be available for commencement parking. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed.
Safety Measures
Your safety is our most important consideration for the upcoming commencement ceremonies.
Like other universities across the country, UCO will implement enhanced screening of graduates and all others entering Hamilton Field House for each ceremony. Every person entering the facility will be screened by security personnel using walk-through metal detectors. This process will create only small delays and will greatly enhance security and safety for everyone.
In addition, we will implement a clear bag policy. Any bags or carriers must be clear plastic and be no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. The only exception to this is allowance is bags necessary for medical equipment. All bags will be individually inspected by security personnel.
Prohibited items include:
- Firearms or other weapons (firearms are not permitted on campus pursuant to state law)
- Alcohol (in all forms)
- Bags, backpacks, fanny packs, or any form of bag/purse that is not clear and within the size limitations
- Banners and signs
- Bagged or wrapped graduation gifts (please keep these in your car until after the ceremony)
- Balloons
- Camera bags (please use a clear bag to bring these items into the facility)
- Flowers
- Outside food or drink
- Tobacco or vape products
If you have any questions or need assistance reserving your tickets, please contact the Office of Degree Certification at degreecertification@uco.edu or by phone at 405-974-2392.
